Welcome to Hazel

Hazel is a bar that is comfortably nestled on Old South Pearl Street, in the heart of one of Denver’s most historic neighborhoods. Old South Pearl is known for its charming community, one-of-a-kind locally owned shops, and unique retailers and boutiques. There you will find some of the city’s hottest restaurants, an exceptional farmer’s market, and seasonal music festivals.

Native to the ‘hood, I wanted to pursue my dream of opening Hazel to establish an element of the whimsical and artistic energy provided by the community of Old South Pearl. I designed Hazel to be a neighborhood cocktail bar that will nurture the roots entrenched in South Pearl Street history. I hope to continue to write this history with a place where guests can experience the art and craft of our mixologists.

Providing space for local artists and satisfying cocktails boosts our imaginative spirit.

“A bartender is just a pharmacist with a limited inventory…” – Albert Einstein

“The greatest accomplishment of a bartender lies in his ability to exactly suit his customer…”Harry Gordon Johnson

We are here to empower all who walk through the door.

“I’m a bartender. I like recipes. They’re concretes. Was the drink recipe for seduction one shot charm and two shots self-deception, shaken, not stirred?…”Karen Marie Moning

At Hazel you will experience positive energy, a chill vibe, good music and tasty beverages!

Creations of local artists featured along the gallery wall change every few weeks. A portion of the proceeds from all art sales are donated back into our community.

We are not an Art Studio or an Art School. However, we encourage you to bring in your own supplies and feel free to work on your craft. We believe that there is creativity in all of us. If you feel that you lack creativity, or have not dabbled in any of the arts, do not fret. We have a fun selection of pre-made art kits put together by Etsy artists for sale.

Funky Adult Only coloring books are available to use as well as a selection of games to play.

Every once in a blue moon we will host a class directed by an artist. Please keep your eyes and ears open for those. By no means should you feel you have to do something crafty! After all, we are just a bar!

I hope you enjoy hanging out at Hazel! If you would like to know the story behind the name, please come in and chat with me. I would be happy to tell you about my Great Auntie.
